Ellen Edmonds

SVP, Chief Actuarial Officer

Ellen Edmonds is Chief Actuarial Officer of Coaction, an A.M. Best “A-“ (Excellent)-rated, property and casualty (P&C) insurer providing specialty property, casualty, entertainment, executive liability, and multi-line coverages. Her responsibilities at Coaction include continuing to build on the company’s strong actuarial foundation while also advancing critical analytics and reporting capabilities.

Edmonds has over 30 years of actuarial experience across reserving, pricing, and financial reporting and specializes in focusing on the big picture and finding collaborative solutions. She builds productive teams wherever she goes, and is an advocate of continuing education for everyone in the insurance and actuarial communities.

Edmonds most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Reserving Actuary at Everest Re, where she was responsible for $19B gross reserves across all lines of business, worldwide geographic areas, reinsurance, and insurance. She was a key member of the Financial Services team and served as the Appointed Actuary and Loss Reserve Specialist for the company’s US and Bermuda entities.

Prior to Everest Re, Edmonds held actuarial leadership positions with Crum & Forster and Reliance Insurance Company, where she learned the intricacies of the insurance industry and developed a broad view across multiple disciplines. In addition to traditional actuarial positions, she has held roles in Internal Audit and on the underwriting side as a Commercial Auto Product Manager.

Edmonds is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

She holds a BA in Statistics from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.
